In recent decades he has led the groups "Nelson Laplagne & Bee-Shock Beat Project", "Nelson Laplagne Jazz Quintet" and “Nelson Laplagne Organsm Trío", projects developed with outstanding musical personalities. He has been part of and collaborated in different musical projects together to Freddy Torrealba, Christian Gálvez, Mario Rojas, Carlos Corales, Chancho en Piedra, Emociones Clandestinas, Silvio Paredes, Denisse Malebrán, Vudú Funk (ARG), Cale Narman (BRA) and John Kennedy (USA).
He has shared the stage with great artists such as Dave Holland (UK), Scott Henderson (USA), Pedro Aznar (ARG), Branford Marsalis (USA), among many others, also participating in national and international Jazz festivals.
In 2015 he edited and produced "Depto 401", his first work as a leader, released in 2016 with an acoustic quintet with Mauricio Rodríguez (guitar), Lautaro Quevedo (piano), Nelson Arriagada (double bass), Alejandro Espinosa (drums) and Juan Ángel Muñoz on cellos.
